The Alaskan Malamute is the largest breed within the Arctic family. The malamute puppy will grow to be a very well built dog. Just like a husky, it's ears are erect and it's tail commonly curles to its back. The Alaskan Malamute can sometimes be mistaken for a wolf, but has a sweeter look to it. Unlike the husky, a alaskan malamute is preferred to have dark eyes rather than blue. Also it's double coat will protect the dog from many harsh weathers.
When it comes to breeds, the alaskan malamute is a very intelligent and loyal dog. They will be very affectionate towards their owner. Make sure to give plenty of excersie as the malamute will want to be outside as much as possible. Without enough things to do, the alaskan malamute puppy can become very destructive. Being such a cute puppy, it might be hard to discipline. Very similar the husky, the malamute will also tend to howl rather than bark and show dominant tendencies to other breeds they don't know. However with the right type of training, the alaskan malamute can be a very well trained dog.
